Scatty - A character from Gothic and Gothic II: Night of the Raven. He is a shadow from the Old Camp, later a Raven's bandit from Jarkendar.

Gothic[]

He is one of the most impotent shadows in the Old Camp. He is an arena intendant and is arranging bets. A lot of people owe him money(like Fletcher). He is one of the people the player has to convince in order to get commended to Diego. In order to earn his respect, the hero needs to fight guard Kirgo and Kharim the mercenary on the arena. He can teach the player one-handed fight.

Gothic II: Night of the Raven[]

He managed to survive fall of the barrier. He left Valley of Mines and went to Jarkendar with Raven. Nameless hero can meet him while entering the gold mine in bandit's camp. He does not recognize the hero, but he mentions one curious fellow he once knew(which actually is the nameless hero). When the player gives him some beer, he receives experience. He's a merchant, and can teach the player gold mining(10% for 2 learning points).

Trivia[]

  • In Gothic he has a guard guild, which means that he will not run away from the player in chapter V, durning his Old Camp raid.
  • He is the only mining teacher that requires learning points.
  • He is the only shadow to use a crossbow.
  • Despite being a shadow, he is using an equipment typical to a guard: Judgement Sword and a Light Crossbow
  • He offers the player arena betting, but when the hero asks about it, Scatty will refuse and say that there's no fight on, and the next fight is due in a couple of days, but that does not happen. A modification Dark Mysteries changes this, and the player can fight and make a bets on the arena.
  • Scatty may be the second most important shadow, since only him and Diego is wearing Shadow Armor.
  • In Gothic II: Night of the Ravem he asks player for mug of beer, and says that it's hard to get a beer in Jarkendar. Even though he could find a beer nearly 3 meters away from him, behind a wooden column. The hero will get 500 experience point for this.
